Female pedestrian struck, killed on Highway 11

A pedestrian was struck and killed on Highway 11 last night near Line 5 of Oro-Medonte Township.

Members of the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have responded to a fatal collision involving a pedestrian, on Highway 11 near Line 5, Oro-Medonte.

On June 06, 2021, shortly after 10 p.m., emergency services received numerous calls reporting that a pedestrian had been struck on Highway 11, northbound, near Line 5.

Orillia OPP officers, along with County of Simcoe Paramedic Services (CSPS) and Oro-Medonte Fire and Emergency Services responded and, tragically, a deceased female pedestrian was located on the highway. Two vehicles were identified as being involved in the incident.

OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) members attended the scene to continue the investigation and the highway remained closed for several hours. If you witnessed the collision, or have any information regarding the incident, you are urged to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

The deceased, a 29-year-old female from Schomberg, will not be identified at this time for investigative purposes. More information will be shared when available.
