Members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police along with our community partners a kicked off the annual Festive RIDE program in North Simcoe on Dec. 13. Officers since then have initiated 21 RIDE check stops on area roadways, checking 645 vehicles and operators in an effort to Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere. Ten drivers provided samples into the roadside screening devices at the various locations and all passed the test.
Involved officers and our community partners — Safe and Sober Awareness Committee and MADD Canada — would like to thank those drivers checked at those RIDE check stops for making the right choice this festive season.
