Gravenhurst man charged with impaired driving on Highway 11

Police say a traffic complaint led to the arrest

ARMOUR TWP - On Sunday Oct. 18, 2020 at approximately 4:35 p.m., members of the Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a traffic complaint for a possible impaired driver on Highway 11 and Ferguson Road.  

The vehicle and driver were successfully located by police. Further to the investigation, police revealed that Frank Doran, 51 years old of Gravenhurst, Ontario had consumed alcohol and was subsequently arrested and charged with:

  •   Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC.

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday December 10, 2020 in Sundridge Ontario.
