Gravenhurst man faces child porn charges after four-month probe

GRAVENHURST - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, OPP Digital Forensic Unit and Bracebridge OPP Detachment have arrested and charged a Gravenhurst man following a four-month internet investigation.

On May 22, 2019, police executed a search warrant at a residence in the Town of Gravenhurst where one computer device was seized containing child sexual abuse material.

As a result of this investigation, police arrested and charged Darron Reid, 51 years of age with one count of Possession of Child Pornography, one count of Make Available Child Pornography and one count of Access Child Pornography.

The accused next court appearance is scheduled for May 23, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.

The investigation is continuing.

The Ontario Provincial Police will continue to aggressively identify and pursue individuals who use technology to exploit children.
