The Orillia Police Services Board is seeking the public’s input about local policing priorities through an in-person public meeting on June 15, 2023.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Orillia Detachment is currently in the process of developing a new three-year action plan. The activities, programs and services outlined within the 2023-2025 Action Plan will address local community safety issues and will align with the OPP’s Strategic Plan.

“Citizens are strongly encouraged to have their say regarding community safety, satisfaction working with our local police services, including areas like property crime, youth issues, calls for service, traffic safety, resource planning, and the opioid crisis. We need your help to make this happen, please attend,” said Orillia Police Services Board Chair and Orillia Councillor, Ralph Cipolla.

    •    Where: Council Chamber, Orillia City Centre, 50 Andrew St. S.

Representatives from the OPP, as well as the Orillia Police Services Board, will be available to take note of comments and respond to any questions about the proposed Detachment Action Plan. 

Feedback will help shape the community priorities that will become an integral part of the Orillia OPP Detachment’s local service delivery model and operational focus.

Key priorities will be developed by the Orillia Police Services Board to be provided to the Orillia OPP Detachment for inclusion in the 2023-2025 Action Plan.

Anyone may attend the public meeting and make a verbal statement, and/or submit comments in writing regarding community satisfaction with police services, property crime, youth crime, calls for services, traffic safety, and resource planning.
