On May 13, 2021 members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to report of a local tradesman that human remains had been located in Church Bay, Honey Harbour.
The body was removed and sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences - Science for Justice in Toronto for examination.
The identity of the body was confirmed to be that of the missing person Samim Ayam, whose death has been deemed to be non suspicious in nature.
