Man breaks into apartment, eats and falls asleep on the couch

When victim arrived home, police were called; Man, 50, faces break-and-enter charges

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Southern Georgian Bay detachment were dispatched at 2:29 p.m. Sept. 25, 2019 to a report of a break and enter to a First Street apartment in the town of Midland.

The victim had arrived home and located a person known to them sleeping on their couch. This person had entered the apartment by forcing a window and upon entry unlawfully consumed food and drink from the apartment kitchen prior to having a sleep. Attending officers arrested/removed and charged Kenneth Royal Cousineau, 50 years of Midland, with the following offence:

  • Break, enter a place - with intent to commit indictable offence

The accused was released on a recognizance and will be appearing on October 24, 2019, before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on this charge.
