Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to provide support to the Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program in an effort to help keep impaired drivers off of area roadways and trails.

Officers conducted R.I.D.E. checks on 888 vehicles and drivers at 13 separate locations some of which included roadways intersecting portions of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trail system over the Jan. 9 - 12, 2020 time period. Officers administered two roadside screening device tests which resulted in a "pass" result for the drivers.

Participating OPP officers  would like to thank the drivers checked at those R.I.D.E. check stops for making the right choice before getting behind the wheel.
