Noise complaint leads to impaired snowmobiling charge

57-year-old Brampton man loses his snowmobile for seven days, driver's license for 90 days and finds a court date

MIDLAND - Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a noise complaint on 1:15 a.m. Feb. 9, 2018 at an Elizabeth Street residence in the Town of Midland.

Responding officers located a male with his snowmobile at that location and entered into a drinking and driving investigation after speaking with him. The male was arrested at the scene and transported to detachment for further investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Daniel Taylor 57 years of Brampton has been charged with Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle while Over 80 mgs contrary to sec 253 (1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

His snowmobile was towed from the scene and impounded for seven days and further his driver's license is suspended for 90 Days under the Administrative Driver's License Suspension (ADLS) and was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.

OPP officers are on snowmobile patrol will be checking sleds on the trails and at R.I.D.E. check stops looking for drinking drivers and also for proof of a valid driver's license, valid vehicle registration and insurance when required. For more information please view this link.
