The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating serious assault on High Street in the City of Orillia.

On Oct. 17, 2018 at approximately 6:50 p.m. members of the Orillia OPP were dispatched to call for a serious assault at a High Street residence. The male was transported to an Orillia area hospital with serious injuries.

The Orillia OPP Crime Unit, Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and Central Region Emergency Response Unit (ERT) were called in to assist with the investigation.

As a result of the investigation Christopher Slauko, age 43 of Orillia, was arrested for aggravated assault. He was held for a bail hearing on Oct. 18, 2018 and set to appear next on Nov. 13, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a second male, Tyler Walsh, age 32 of Orillia, for aggravated assault.

Police feel this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
