OPP look to identify vehicle, occupants in Midland shooting probe

May 13 update:
Investigators are asking for assistance in identifying a vehicle and occupants observed at the scene at the time of the incident. Vehicle is described as a newer model Ford Explorer black in colour with a shiny black finish, dark tinted windows and chrome rims. The vehicle appeared to have two occupants in it.

Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to contact the OPP at1-888-310-1122, [email protected] or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can submit your information online.

Original May 11 release:
MIDLAND - Members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a shooting on the property of a Marina Park Avenue building in Midland at 11:43 p.m. May 10, 2019.

Responding officers and County of Simcoe Paramedic Services located a 25-year-old male suffering from gun shot wounds and after treating him at the scene transported him to hospital for further treatment of his injuries.

Initial investigation has revealed that the male was in the parking lot of the property at the time of the shooting and the investigators are being assisted by members of the OPP Central Region Crime Unit. This investigation is currently ongoing and investigators advise this is an isolated incident and there is no further threat to public safety. Information updates will be provided as they become available.
