Orillia man faces serious weapons, drug charges after police search

Police seize a long gun, methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana

On Friday, the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a search warrant at a Mary Street address in Orillia. 

At approximately 3 p.m. the Orillia Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Orillia OPP detachment members, Central Region Tactics and Rescue (TRU) and Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed the warrant.

As a result of the search police seized a long gun, methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana. Police have charged 38-year-old Robert Pasnik of Orillia with the following offences:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Section 91(1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm Contrary to Section 86(1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Possession of a Schedule II substance Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused has been released on an Officer in Charge Undertaking and Promise to Appear for April 10, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia.
