Orillia OPP issue call for assistance in probe of suspicious death

On Friday, July 19, 2019 at approximately 5:50 a.m., members from the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services and the Orillia Fire Department responded to a report of an injured person outside a Davey Drive residence in the City of Orillia.

The female victim identified as Tracey Reid (age 45) of Orillia was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Detectives from the Orillia OPP Crime Unit are presently investigating the circumstances of the death under the direction of Detective Inspector Chris Landry of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

The OPP is asking for the public's assistance with this ongoing investigation. Anyone with information relating to this investigation or who may have observed any suspicious activity in the Davey Drive area on July 19, 2019 between the hours of 2 a.m. and 5:50 a.m. is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
