Orillia OPP accuse Milton woman of drug trafficking

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made an arrest for drug trafficking in Orillia.

On Oct. 12, 2018, members of the Orillia OPP and Orillia Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) conducted an investigation into drug trafficking in the city of Orillia.

At approximately 3:45 p.m., Orillia OPP members arrested Janilyn Batac ,age 30 of Milton. She was on foot on Mississaga Street near Albert Street. Upon arrest, police found a quantity of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, fentanyl and cash along with evidence of trafficking.

The accused was charged with four counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and possession of property obtained by crime contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

The accused was held in custody where she was remanded to Oct. 15, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie for a bail hearing.
