Orillia OPP nab Scarborough man, quantity of drugs

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police arrested and charged a Scarborough man with drug offences in the City of Orillia.

On April 27, 2018 Orillia OPP members and the Community Street Crime Unit received information regarding drug possession at a Barrie Road address in Orillia. Officers responded to the call and after an investigation arrested 3 people. Police seized a quantity of cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis marijuana.

As a result of the investigation 19-year-old Garret Grant of Scarborough was charged with:

  • Two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
  • Two counts of possession of a schedule I substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
  • Possession of a schedule II substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear for May 29, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia.
