Orillia woman charged in relation to vehicle theft

The Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a suspect in relation to a stolen vehicle in the City of Orillia on June 11.

On June 14, shortly after 11:30 a.m., police were alerted by a member of the public who located the previously reported vehicle parked at a residence in the City of Orillia. Police were able to locate an individual who had keys in their possession and arrested the individual. While placing the individual under arrest, police located an edged weapon that was determined to be prohibited.

As a result, police have charged Shana Rolland, 35, of Orillia, with the following: possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

The accused was released on an undertaking and will appear on July 26 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia.
