Photographer charged with sexual assaults at Newmarket school

Two students reported being assaulted by the Barrie man while having their school pictures taken, say police who are appealing for additional victims to come forward

A school photographer has been charged after two students reported being sexually assaulted while having their photographs taken at a school in Newmarket. 

York Regional Police said it began investigating on Sept. 21, when a female victim came forward and said she was assaulted during a school photography session Sept. 16. 

Through the investigation, police said a second victim came forward and said she also was sexually assaulted by a photographer. 

Police are not identifying at which school the reported incidents took place. 

On Nov. 2, police arrested 30-year-old Scott Kresan Tilbe of Barrie, who is charged with two counts of sexual assault, sexual interference with a person under 16, and sexual exploitation. 

Police have released his photograph and are appealing to any additional victims to come forward.
