Police identify victim in fatal motorcycle crash as Quebec teen

No charges have been laid as OPP's investigation continues to determine what caused the fatal collision in Angus

ESSA TWP. — Provincial police have identified the victim in Sunday's fatal motorcycle collision in Angus as a teenager from Quebec. 

Emergency crews responded to Mill Street between Tree To Street and Summerset Place in Angus for a serious two-vehicle collision, one of them being a motorcycle, shortly before 5 p.m., April 24. 

According to Nottawasaga OPP, the driver who was operating the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries. Police later learned they had succumbed to their injuries.

Police have identified the deceased as 18-year-old Jessy Blanchard of Quebec.

The driver of the other vehicle did not sustain any injuries, according to police.

OPP technical traffic collision investigators attended the scene as part of the investigation. The road was closed on Mill Street between Cecil Street and Commerce Road in Angus. It was re-opened at 11:20 p.m. on April 24, 2022.

No charges have been laid at this time as the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause.
