Police investigate shooting in Midland

Isolated incident, no further threat to public, say police

MIDLAND - Members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a shooting on the property of a Marina Park Avenue building in Midland at 11:43 p.m. May 10, 2019.

Responding officers and County of Simcoe Paramedic Services located a 25-year-old male suffering from gun shot wounds and after treating him at the scene transported him to hospital for further treatment of his injuries.

Initial investigation has revealed that the male was in the parking lot of the property at the time of the shooting and the investigators are being assisted by members of the OPP Central Region Crime Unit. This investigation is currently ongoing and investigators advise this is an isolated incident and there is no further threat to public safety.
