Police investigate sudden death of Orillia woman

On April 3, 2018 at approximately 4 a.m., members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a sudden death incident at a Gill Street address in the City of Orillia.

Police arrived at the scene and located a 48-year-old female who was being tended to by Rama Paramedic Services. The female was then transported to an Orillia area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The Orillia Crime Unit and Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) under the direction of Detective Inspector Rob Matthews of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) will be investigating this incident.

At this time, the name of the deceased is being withheld pending next of kin notification and a post mortem examination.
