Police looking for third man involved in kidnapping incident (Update: man located)

Oct. 3 update

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an additional arrest in relation to the incident at Little Lake Park on September 29, 2018.   

Raymond Sarrazin (19) of Midland Ontario has been arrested and charged with the following:  

  • Robbery with Violence contrary to section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
  • Kidnapping contrary to section 279(1.1)(b) of the Criminal Code
  • Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose contrary to section 88 of the Criminal Code
  • Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

Sarrazin is scheduled to appear at bail court in Barrie today.   

The investigation is ongoing at this time and any additional information will be released in a media update as it becomes available.

MIDLAND - In the afternoon of Sept. 29, 2018 members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were made aware of a targeted kidnapping incident that had occurred earlier in the day in Little Lake Park, Midland.

Investigators have been being assisted by members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP detachment Community Street Crime Unit and the OPP Central Region Crime Unit. 

This ongoing investigation has lead to officers locating and arresting two involved males on Oct. 1, 2018 whom were held for bail before the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on Oct. 2, 2018.

Currently charged in connection to this incident are Tylor Norman Dell 30 years of the Midland area with the following offences:

  • Kidnapping - confine contrary to section 279 (1.1) (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Robbery with Violence contrary to section 344 (1) (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code of Canada

Also charged is Geromy Earl Shaw 44 years of Tay Township with the following offences:

  • Kidnapping - confine contrary to section 279 (1.1) (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Robbery with Violence contrary to section 344 (1) (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code of Canada

Police are currently seeking a third male from the Midland area to speak with him regarding his involvement in this incident.
