Police nab wanted man at scene of a collision

PORT McNICOLL, ON - On May 7, 2018 members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were investigating a traffic collision when an officer saw a male with an outstanding bench warrant walk past. When told he was under arrest for the warrant he fled from police on foot. A short time later he was arrested by on duty OPP officers. 

Justin Jackson, age 29, of Port McNicoll was charged with the following additional offences: 

  • Resist arrest contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Theft under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code
  • Fail to comply with probation order contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code

Jackson was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on May 8, 2018.
