Police seek vehicle involved in serious crash on Highway 11

GRAVENHURST - Members of the Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are appealing to anyone who may have information regarding a serious collision in the southbound lanes of Highway 11.

Shortly before 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 24, a pedestrian was struck on the southbound section of Highway 11 near Sparrow Lake Route D in the Town of Gravenhurst.

A 30-year-old female received serious life threatening injuries and has been transported to a Toronto area trauma centre. The vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene.

The southbound lanes of Highway 11 remained closed for several hours while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measured, documented the scene, and gathered evidence.

The Bracebridge OPP are looking for anyone who may have witnessed this collision and may be able to identify the vehicle involved. If you have information on this crash please contact the Bracebridge Detachment at 705-645-2211 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
