Police seek witnesses following attempted robbery on trail

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is seeking witnesses to a robbery which occurred in the City of Orillia.

On Sept. 10, 2018 approximately 3:20 p.m. the victim was walking on the trail between Bass Lake Side Road East and Westridge Boulevard in Orillia. The victim was approached by a male suspect who allegedly demanded his phone. The victim said no and was assaulted, a brief struggle ensued and the suspect fled on foot towards Bass Lake Side Road East.

Police are seeking witnesses or anyone who has information regarding this robbery. The suspect is described as:

  • Male Caucasian.
  • Approximately 6" - 6"2'.
  • 17-20 years old.
  • 200 lbs.
  • Dark brown eyes
  • Black baseball cap, white letters on the cap
  • Dark coloured hoodie.
  • Blue bandana.
  • Ripped jeans which were light denim.
  • Black Shoes
  • Blue Adidas back pack with green stripes.
