Ramara driver charged with impaired after collision

A 55-year-old from Ramara faces impaired driving, mischief charges

RAMARA - The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a male after a collision led to an impaired driving investigation.

On Jan. 24, 2021, at approximately 10:45 a.m., police received a call for a motor vehicle collision on Concession Road F-G in the Township of Ramara. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer initiated an impaired driving investigation and the male was subsequently arrested.

The driver, Brian Baron, age 55, of Ramara, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - Alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Mischief

The accused is being held in custody and is set to appear for a bail hearing on Jan. 25, 2021 via video at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.
