Ramara man faces multiple charges after being stopped by OPP

Man was observed speeding on Kirkfield Road and, upon investigation, police learned he was driving under suspension - without proper plates

A recent vehicle stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the driver being charged with multiple offences.

On December 11, 2019 an OPP officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Kirkfield Road and subsequently stopped the vehicle. The ensuing investigation resulted in the driver, Michael Hajba, 39 years of age, of Ramara Township, being charged with the following offences:

  • Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
  • Driving while under suspension, contrary to the HTA
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle, contrary to the HTA
  • Fail to have insurance card, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

The vehicle was towed from the scene. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on February 4, 2020.
