SOUTHERN GEORGIAN BAY OPP

Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a call of a person in crisis outside an address on the 11th Concession of Tiny Township.
At 7:14 p.m. Dec. 7, attending officers were assisted by members of the OPP Central Region Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, OPP Negotiators and a OPP Incident Commander.
At approximately 2:15 a.m. on Dec. 8, a male was arrested and charged. The accused was safely transported from the involved residence.
As a result of the investigation Michael LaCroix, 34, of Tiny Township was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Adult Uttering Threats - Cause death or bodily harm
- Adult Mischief - destroys or damages property
The accused was held for a bail hearing on Dec. 8 before the Ontario Court of Justice.
Investigators would like to advise this was an isolated incident and at no time was there a threat to public safety.
