Severn woman charged with impaired driving

Members of the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a local resident with impaired driving following a traffic complaint in Severn Township.

On June 16, shortly before 10 p.m., officers on patrol located and stopped a possible impaired driver on Upper Big Chute Road in Severn Township. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Orillia detachment for further investigation. The driver registered a blood-alcohol concentration of four times the legal limit.

As a result, Julie Dagger, 40, of Severn, has been charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear on July 12 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia. Her vehicle was impounded for seven days and she was issued a 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension.
