Shot fired after 'road-rage incident' in Barrie

Barrie police are investigating after a gunshot was fired at a vehicle in the city's south end last night. 

Police say the "road-rage incident" happened around 9 p.m., Saturday, on Essa Road at Mapleview Drive. 

The shot came from a person driving a black Hyundai SUV that went westbound on Mapleview, police say.

The bullet struck the trunk area of the victim’s car and has been recovered by police.

There were no ‬injuries reported.

Police believe the Hyundai may be a newer model Tucson. The driver is described as a man between 25 and 30 years old, with black hair below his ears and a brown complexion.

Police are hoping witnesses come forward or someone may have dash-cam video.
