Suspect sought after attempted robbery in Midland

MIDLAND - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Southern Georgian Bay detachment are looking for one suspect involved in an attempted robbery that took place at a convenience store in the town of Midland near King and Robert Street last night just before 8 p.m.

The suspect was armed with a small pocket knife. No one was injured and the suspect did not obtain any cash or goods.   

Officers arrived shortly after the call for service and conducted a search of the area. Investigating officers were assisted by Southern Georgian Bay OPP Scenes of Crime Officer (SOCO) to collect evidence and K-9 unit to assist in attempting to locate the suspect who fled on foot. 

The suspect was last seen by witnesses in the area of Robert and Wellington Street. Police are still looking for one suspect who is fled on foot.    

Witnesses described the suspect as an older white male, between 40-50 years old, approximately five and a half to six feet tall with a scruffy beard. The suspect was also described as wearing grey and black pants with a red, black and white jacket possibly "FRX" and a greyish beige floppy hat.
