SEVERN, Ont. - On June 03, 2018 the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call of a Robbery at a Washago business in The Township of Severn.
Investigation reveals on June 3, 2018 at approximately 8:40 p.m. a male entered the business. The male approached the cashier brandishing a knife and demanded the cash register to be opened. The suspect had a bandana covering the lower portion of his face. The robbery was interrupted by a customer entering the store. The male fled, in a dark coloured two door sedan, westbound on Muskoka Street. No one was hurt during this incident.
The suspect is described as:
- Caucasian male.
- 6-feet tall with muscular build and broad shoulders.
- Short dark curly hair.
- Black shirt with a picture on it.
- Wearing dark clothing.
- Tattoos on both arms.
The Orillia Crime Unit along with the Orillia OPP continues to investigate this incident. If anyone witnessed this or has information about the suspect, vehicle or situation they are encouraged to contact the Orillia OPP at 705-326-3536 or 1-888-310-1122.
The Orillia OPP identified the suspects involved in the robbery as a 37-year-old male and 24-year-old female both from Burlington Ontario. Both accused have been arrested by Kingston Police Service on unrelated charges. The suspects will be transported to Orillia where they will be held for a bail hearing.
