MIDLAND - Members of the Central Region Crime Unit attached Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police in May of 2018 commenced an investigation into a complaint of a series of sex assaults alleged to have occurred during the late 1990s time period throughout the detachment patrol area. Investigators have concluded their investigation and have charged Hans Reinhardt Mayer, 58 years of age of Tay Township with a number of sex related offences.
He has been released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on Oct. 18, 2018.
