Three arrested following armed robbery in Port McNicoll

On May 26, 2021, just before 1 p.m., officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported robbery which occurred at a small business on Talbot St. in the village of Port McNicoll. The suspect in the robbery was in possession of what appeared to be a firearm and was observed fleeing the area in a vehicle.

A member of the public observed the vehicle and provided a description, the license plate and a direction of travel. Approximately 15 minutes later, the suspect vehicle was located by officers travelling on Highway 93 into the Town of Midland. The vehicle was stopped and a male and female were placed under arrest. A second male was arrested after being found hiding in the rear of the vehicle as well, a pistol-style pellet gun was located and seized.

The arrested parties were transported to the Southern Georgian Bay detachment, the investigation continues. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
