Traffic stop leads to multiple charges for Gravenhurst woman

The 32-year-old faces trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime and eight Highway Traffic Act offences

Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police officers were on patrol in the town of Gravenhurst in the area of James Street at 2:20 a.m. on July 13, 2020, when they stopped a car for a traffic infraction.

The driver was determined to possess only a G1 driver and failed to fulfill the obligations of a G1 driver.

As a result of their investigation, police have charged the driver, 32-year-old Ashley Gray of Gravenhurst, with trafficking in schedule I substance CDSA 5(1) X 4 (heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl), possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime CC 354(1)(a) along with 8 Highway Traffic Act offenses.

There were two female passengers, also from Gravenhurst, who were detained and ultimately released.

She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Oct. 6, 2020, to answer to her charges.
