Transport truck flees after pedestrian suffers life-threatening injuries

GRAVENHURST - Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to an incident on Bethune Drive near Violet Street in Gravenhurst on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 8:10 p.m. involving a transport truck and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian mounted the transport truck and a confrontation ensued that resulted in the man falling as the truck was put into motion. The operator of the truck fled the scene and is still outstanding. The transport is described as a blue Freightliner conventional bearing Ontario Marker BK46352.

The pedestrian, a 47-year-old Gravenhurst man, was transported to hospital and later transferred to a Toronto area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
