A truck driver has been charged after an incident on Highway 11 near Sundial Drive earlier today.
The truck rolled on to its side while trying to navigate the off-ramp. Orillia OPP say no injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.
The Orillia OPP say the driver was charged with careless driving in the wake of the incident.
The truck was full of ice and much of the contents ended up spilled onto the roadway and adjacent to the area. The scene has now been cleaned up and the road is open.
Ironically, Orillia OPP, OPP traffic units and other provincial agencies conducted commercial motor vehicle enforcement on Highway 11 today; many vehicles were ticketed for a variety of infractions.
In a Tweet, the OPP noted "commercial vehicle owners and operators are held to a high standard as they are considered professionals."
