Two GTA drivers nabbed for impaired driving in Gravenhurst

Drivers charged with impaired face an immediate 90-day driver's licence suspension

On Tuesday May 25, 2021 at 2:15 p.m. Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a concern from a member of the public about an impaired driver on Carrick Trail in Gravenhurst.

Officers located the vehicle a short distance away and arrested and charged 50-year-old Trevor McIvor of Toronto with impaired operation CC 320.14(1)(a) and over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 29, 2021 to answer to his charges.

On May 27, 2021 at 12:30 a.m. a Bracebridge OPP officer was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 11 North near Hewitt Street in Gravenhurst and became concerned about a vehicle travelling well below the speed limit.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and after an investigation, arrested and charged 23-year-old Rahul Kapoor of Scarborough with impaired operation by drug CC 320.14(1)(a). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 29, 2021 to answer to his charge.

Drivers charged with impaired driving face an immediate 90 day driver's license suspension and their vehicle will be towed and impounded.
