Two people killed in early-morning house fire near Sebright

Five people were able to escape the residence unharmed; Ontario Fire Marshal is assisting OPP in its investigation

This morning at approximately 8:39 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police received a call pertaining to a residential fire on Young Street, near Sebright.

Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP attended the residence and continue to be on scene, along with members of the Ontario Fire Marshal's office, as the investigation is ongoing.

Initial investigation indicated that five persons were able to exit the residence without injury. Two persons are deceased. At this time the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
