A Bracebridge homeowner had an unwelcome guest show up Saturday afternoon.

Police say a resident reported a vehicle drove into their yard and proceeded to hit two parked cars on Saturday at about 2 p.m. The home owner was able to block the vehicle, thwarting him from fleeing the scene.

Bracebridge OPP arrived at the Hiram Street residence and soon determined the vehicle had been stolen from Toronto. Further investigation revealed the driver was never licensed to operate a car.

James Tsanoff of Tillsonburg, 31, was arrested and charged with impaired driving, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, dangerous operation of a vehicle, obstructing a police officer, driving with cannabis ready available, failure to comply with a probation order and other Highway Traffic Act related offences.

Tsanoff remains in custody and will have a bail hearing on June 12, 2022 to answer to his charges.
