Woman assaulted in Orillia; OPP seek help identifying suspect

Incident happened in July, in afternoon, at corner of Barrie Road and Memorial Avenue

ORILLIA - The Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect for an assault which happened July 27, 2018 in the City of Orillia.

On July 27, 2018 at approximately 4:40 p.m., an unknown male approached a female in the area of Memorial Avenue and Barrie Road in the City of Orillia near the sidewalk. The male engaged the female in conversation and then assaulted her. Police do not believe there to be a danger to the public, however looking for assistance to identify this male.

The male is described as:
    •    Caucasian
    •    Mid- to late-20s
    •    Blue bandana tied around his head
    •    Skinnier build
    •    Messy brown hair
    •    Facial hair
    •    Operating a bicycle

Police were able to obtain an image from a nearby surveillance camera and have included that photo with this release.
