MIDLAND - Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Southern Georgian Bay detachment were called to investigate a serious allegation at a Midland high school on Nov. 28, 2019.  The school was placed on a lockdown shortly before noon while police responded to the call for service.

Two youth suspects were arrested shortly after at a location off of school property. One youth will be facing Criminal Code charges. Police also seized one pellet gun. The lockdown was lifted after the suspect was arrested and police determined that it was safe for staff and students to return to normal activities. There were no injuries.

Police investigation into this matter is ongoing and information on charges will be updated when it becomes available. The Simcoe County District School Board will be sending a letter to families regarding the incident.
