Postcard Memories is a weekly series of historic postcard views and photos submitted by Marcel Rousseau.

Some were previously published by the Orillia Museum of Art and History and in the book Postcard Memories Orillia.

The Floral Park Store was located on the east side of Rama Road near the entrance to Floral Park. The first postmaster from 1925 to 1928 was W. R. McRae.

In the summer of 1928, it was taken over by Albert G. Finnis, who operated the store and post office until 1950.

The family in the picture is likely the Finnis family proudly posing in front of their busy store with the two gas pumps. The sign in front promotes Country Club Ice Cream made by the Orillia Creamery.

On the left of the building hangs a sign with the words “Dance at Oakland”. This large dance hall was located nearby and was a popular hangout for many years.

The store was demolished many years ago, but a new store and post office continued operations on the west side of Rama Road.
