Lingerlong Tourist Camp was a Cumberland Beach hot-spot

Popular store had a busy lunch room and sold groceries to cottagers and welcomed people to busy summer area

Postcard Memories is a weekly series of historic postcard views and photos submitted by Marcel Rousseau.

Some were previously published by the Orillia Museum of Art and History and in the book Postcard Memories Orillia.

Owned by the Marr family, the Lingerlong Tourist Camp was located on Highway 11, north of Orillia, between the 10th and 11th concession.

This popular store, with the Coca-Cola and Sweet Caporal signs, had a lunch room and sold groceries to the cottagers in the Cumberland Beach area.

The Cumberland Beach archway was constructed out of branches that were peeled and allowed to weather, creating a unique fence and entrance to a busy summer location.
