Postcard Memories is a weekly series of historic postcard views and photos submitted by Marcel Rousseau.

Some were previously published by the Orillia Museum of Art and History and in the book Postcard Memories Orillia.

This view of The Narrows at Atherley was one of hundreds of postcards published between 1905 and 1920 by the R.O. Smith bookstore in downtown Orillia.

This hand-tinted photo was taken from the east side of The Narrows bridge and shows us how sparsely developed Orchard Point was at that time.

Along The Narrows can be seen three boathouses and three homes. Near the point is the wharf and large boathouse belonging to the Orchard Point Inn. The boathouse had a large dance hall on the second floor overlooking the water for the enjoyment of the summer guests as well as the surrounding community.
