For those who enjoy golf and supporting a worthwhile cause, the 11th annual Fall Classic Golf Tournament is the perfect event.

The Lighthouse Community Services and Couchiching Jubilee House — two local non-profit organizations that support the most vulnerable to achieve food security, emergency shelter and long-term transitional housing and programming, are hosting the Sept. 16 event.

"All the proceeds that are gathered from the golf tournament are for those two organizations," Jen Jermey, the development administrator, said, adding that in previous years they raised around $30,000, and they hope to do the same this year.

A silent auction, 50/50 draw and other fundraising games are also part of the event, which takes place at the Hawk Ridge Golf Club and includes a golf cart and lunch.

Jermey said there is still space and time to register online. It costs $250 for a single golfer and $1000 for a foursome.

"We're looking forward to having a really good time," she said.
