Ward 5 is an awesome place! The beaches are world class and the sunsets are spectacular.  A year round recreational paradise, with world class recreational potential that is a real gem!

Our community is on the cusp of change. We’re evolving from a vacation destination, retirement community, to a changing growing community near the GTA.  Newcomers with diverse backgrounds, family structures and expectations, as well as long-term residents with memories of a more vibrant community with amenities and services, want sustained economic growth.

My vision for Ramara focuses on inclusiveness, where community prosperity is achieved through thoughtful growth and sustainable economic development.

We have a decision to make in this election to determine the direction of our community.

I’ve been an active and “questioning” voice in Ramara for several years. Challenging the status quo isn't easy — or popular — but I was compelled to take action to persuade Ramara Council to reconsider a shorewall bylaw that I believed was not in the best interests of constituents. Experience taught me the need to become active in the council decisions that shape my life and that of my neighbours.

I want to be Ward 5 Councillor, so I can leverage decades of experience, advocating for individual and community needs, to achieve solutions for problems that growing communities experience.

As a family, we started boating on Lake Simcoe 25 years ago. In 2015, after completing America’s Great Loop (AGLCA), Lagoon City became our “forever home,” where we boat and enjoy life on the water in an amazing place tucked away within a thriving, rural community.

I thrived as a teacher and counsellor for 30 years in B.C. and Ontario and served for years on the Board of Directors of Toronto French School (TFS), developing governance, financial and project management skills. Currently, a volunteer “AGLCA Harbour Host” I provide assistance to boaters travelling the loop.

I learn by listening and encouraging others to speak out and plan to continue using this super power as Ward 5 Councillor!

This election, we have a great opportunity in Ward 5— with no incumbent — to decide the future of our ward and to set the path our community takes.

Let's start talking! As a community, how are we doing in areas that are important to you?
