Orillia Matters, in partnership with the SPCA Orillia Animal Centre, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

Hey there! My name is Abner and I am a 2-year-old orange tabby. I am a very social guy and enjoy meeting new human friends. I really like to snuggle and I am super affectionate, but I’m not the biggest fan of being picked up all the time. My favourite thing to do is spend time with people and be the center of attention.

When I first came to the SPCA Orillia Animal Centre, I made friends with all the staff right away. They took very good care of me and made sure I always had everything that I needed. I enjoy playing with toys and eat lots of treats. My personality is Leader of the Band, which means I am a very confident, outgoing cat.

Because I am an attention hog and don’t seem to get along well with other felines, I would need to be the only one in the home. I also may like to spend some of my time outside so I can explore and get some fresh air. If I sound like the cat for you, come and visit with me today on the adoption floor at the SPCA Orillia Animal Centre. I’ll be waiting for you!
