OrilliaMatters, in partnership with the Ontario SPCA Orillia Animal Centre, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

They call me Dutchess. I am a short hair brown tabby, female who was born roughly in December 2019. I was living in a small cat colony and being fed by some nice people that got all the other cats adopted just not myself and another kitty.
When I came to the shelter, I wasn't very friendly, however, I have been working really hard at trusting people, it is a difficult transition from living outside with no human touch, to being in a shelter with people around. I still hide sometimes but if you let me sniff your hand first, and are very gentle, I will let you pet and scratch my ears and you more than likely will get me to purr. I would like a home with someone who will love me and allow me to be a couch potato.
