The Cellar Singers will mark the holiday season with a concert that celebrates the classical and the contemporary.

We’re performing festive pieces by Elmer Iseler, Eleanor Daley, Brian Emery, and Albert Greer. We’ll welcome soloists Alexandra Teske and Autumn Debassige, as well as Mary-Jayne VanPypen, to help us perform Vivaldi’s masterpiece, Gloria. Written in the early 1700s, it presents the traditional Gloria text in 12 varied, cantata-like sections, ranging from plaintive and operatic to joyful and exuberant.

“It’s a joy to be able to spend this time together during the holiday season, and provide such beautiful music for our community,” says choir president Faith Shergold.

Join us on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 4 p.m. at St. James' Anglican Church, Orillia for this festive concert. Tickets are $25 ($10 for those under 30) and available from members or at thecellarsingers.com.

The Cellar Singers are an adult choral organization under professional leadership, dedicated to providing and promoting artistic excellence in Simcoe, Muskoka, and beyond, through education, outreach and high-quality performance of the choral art.
