JOYLAND BEACH ASSOCIATION

The Joyland Beach Association in Ramara is hosting ‘A Touch of Magic Brew Ha Ha,’ which will take place on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Joyland Beach Community Centre (4303 McRae Park Rd., Ramara, ON, L3V 0S2).
This is a witches’ themed high tea with entertainment as well as a silent auction. Costumes are strongly encouraged. All proceeds from this event go to Mariposa House Hospice and the Joyland Beach Community Centre.
Mariposa House Hospice serves the Couchiching area including Orillia, Severn, Oro-Medonte, Ramara, and Chippewas of Rama First Nation. The team at Mariposa House Hospice provides exceptional end-of-life care in a comfortable homelike setting at no cost to residents and their families.
Mariposa House Hospice is the only hospice residence in the area and has served over 260 residents and their families since opening in February 2021. The percentage of their annual operating budget covered by provincial funding currently sits at around 40%. The remainder is fundraised by our local community in a variety of ways, including events like this one.
The Joyland Beach Community Association is a completely volunteer-run community hall in Ramara Township. The Association was formed in 1960 to organize activities for the property owners and care for the common properties. The Township does not have ownership of these properties and they would not be looked after unless the Association cared for them.
Working together for our neighbourhood and playing together at our community events has made Joyland Beach into a true community and a wonderful place to live or visit. The Association relies primarily on the annual dues of the community members as well as hall rentals to cover operating costs. This fundraising event’s proceeds will go towards improving our website and online visibility to increase our ability to generate income.
